About $MADAME

Like an octopus spinning plates and riding waves, who sings like Bjork doing the blues, Madame The Band dwells at the edge of chaos and brilliance. After viewing Madame’s live performance for “I nearly waited”, NPR’s Tiny Desk creator Bob Boilen exclaimed “Oh My God! I mean there was not a moment it wasn’t like this creative, beautiful thing...” It's a sentiment that resonates through MTB’s oscillation between alternative rock, trip hop, and dark pop.

Growing up in a haunted house in Whittier, California, Madame's musical journey was shaped by the clash of her parents' divergent tastes. Inspired by her beer-drinking, chain-smoking great-grandmother, a Ranchera music composer who cut her own vinyl record, Madame's creativity ignited early. Cultivated through busking and improvisation, her musical prowess flourished, driven by an insatiable desire to break and reform her own limitations.
